How do my partner and I register together for a tournament?
The first player to register on a team selects, “I have a partner”. When the second player of the team registers and selects the same, they will be given a list of players from which to select their partner. If you and your partner are unable to connect this way, it usually means you have registered in different divisions. If this happens, or if you have any questions, please reach out and we can take care of it.
What time does my division start?
We usually wait until registration closes to set the schedule, which is based on several factors. Our tournaments are daytime tournaments (all except Hot August Nights) and will start in the morning (start times may vary based on court capacity). Depending on the morning temps, this may be 7am, 8am or 9am. If we reach court capacity with the first start time, we will add additional start times. Start times for specific events, again depend on many factors. Schedules are posted on the tournament site no later than 2 days prior to the first day of play.
When registering for a Doubles event, do both players register/pay?
Yes, each player is responsible to register/pay individually the tournament registration fee plus the event fee for any event they wish to play.
What are the age ranges to play in a tournament?
Registration in our tournaments is open to all players ages 8 and up, based on your birthday as of December 31 of the current year. If we have a Senior Only division (ages 50+ or 65+), the players in these divisions must meet the minimum age requirement. Open age divisions will be for ages 8 to 49 (when we have a Senior division), or 8 and UP when do Senior division is listed. In some cases, we will add additional age divisions when we reach the limit of 14 teams per division. Players may play DOWN in age and UP in skill.
Will my results be reported to DUPR?
Currently, Excel Pickleball does not have an agreement with any rating agency. Therefore, we do not submit match results on a player’s behalf. If the software we use does not automatically report the results, it may be up to the player to report results to the ratings agency of their choice.
